How can I get a bankruptcy removed from my credit report?

I filed in 2001. I disputed my bankruptcy and a lien with all 3 credit bureaus.
Transunion removed the lien not the bankruptcy
Equifax removed the bankruptcy and not the lien
Experian wouldn’t remove neither one.

Now i know once you dispute an item the creditor has 30 days to respond or its removed from your file how can i get the others removed or do I just have to wait it out

If one bureau remove it dont the others have too.

that is not always the case because every bureau has their own rating system

i would advise you to get some free legal advice and see if they can help you at all (they usually have free legal advice at your local library sometimes or at least they would know where you can go to get some)

like in the movie fight club, you could bring down all the banking centers

A dispute removal is only valid if the item being disputed is incorrect. If you did indeed file bankruptcy it is being reported accurately and will remain on your credit history for the amount of time required per that filing.

Transunion removed the lien report because the bankruptcy extinguished the note portion of the lien. The lien, however, will still attach to any real property you may own in the county in which the lien was recorded and any others into which it was transcribed.

The bureaus report independently. Often, when a correction is made to only one bureau, that bureau will pick up the previously correct item again in following months from the other bureaus’ reports.

Your bankruptcy is a matter of public record. Every time you request credit a search of the public records will reveal that filing.

This is the price of bankruptcy relief.

To get the bankruptcy removed…..wait the required seven years you deadbeat! The rest of society has to pay the price for your spend and stiff lifestyle.

By waiting til the statue of limitations is up. Sit down you were lucky to have removed what was mistakenly removed. 10 yrs.

A Bankruptcy Filing and Discharge cannot be removed from the credit bureaus. It takes 10 years for the BK to drop off your credit report.

You have to wait til 2011 before they have to remove your bankrupcy. You juts got lucky with Equifax– but dont be surprised it if reappears. Why should you be enetitled to a ‘clean’ report if you just filed 5 years ago?

The credit bureaus only have to remove something if the information is inaccurate. Bankruptcy is a court proceeding that is public record and they are under no obligation to remove it. It will be with you for up to 10 years from the date of the discharge.
